Quickest way to learn shinobue

Q & A: "What is the quickest way to get good at shinobue?"

Answer: To improve quickly in any musical instrument, you need two things.

(BTW, this is how I learned shinobue - I started playing shinobue in 2020 when I was 54 years old.)

  1. Take lessons.

  2. Practice daily.

I'm not saying you need to take lessons with me. Go on the internet and find shinobue teachers who can teach in English. Or contact taiko groups and ask. Many taiko groups have shinobue players.

When you study with a teacher, they can focus on your unique problems, while watching videos may lead to wasting time on issues you do not have.

With or without teachers, if you practice daily, EVEN FOR 5 MINUTES, you progress much faster than you practicing once a week for 2 hours.

Practicing daily becomes easier when you know a teacher is meeting with you every week, which makes you accountable. That's why these two elements create a winning combination.
