Shinobue sheet music variations

Q & A: "I saw a shinobue sheet music that looked different from yours. Why?"

Answer: There is no established standard for shinobue notation, which means that each teacher typically has their own method for notating shinobue sheet music. My shinobue sheet music uses a hybrid approach that combines Western notation with Japanese fingering techniques. However, just yesterday, I came across a shinobue sheet music that does not use any Western notation; in this version, the number "0" indicates a rest (no sound) rather than representing a note. But using kanji numbers for "ryo on" and regular numbers for "kan on" is quite standard in most shinobue sheet music.
