• They have been crafted by Mr. Tanaka, a shinobue craftsman certified by Ota Ward in Tokyo.

• To ensure durability, Wako shinobues available on my website are covered in a thick layer of urushi lacquer, which protects against cracking in dry environments, such as those with central air conditioning and heating. (Most Japanese houses do not have central air conditioning and heating and Japan is a very humid country.)

• Please note that the lacquer does contain urushi, which may cause a mild rash for some individuals initially. (But I did not experience any reaction to Wako shinobues despite my urushi allergy.)
